HISTORY

An old dream, a new school concept

A school is a place where children grow through learning, learning they shall apply throughout their lives. It is one of the key factors in determining who they will become in the future: the school, with its projects, determines the future of our society.
How will our children be like in the future? How shall we raise them so they build a better society?

These are surely among some of the questions we make to ourselves when considering what a school is and how it ought to be. Same questions Mrs. Gaos made herself when founding Princess Margaret International School in 1967.

THE START OF THE PRINCESS MARGARET INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Princess Margaret International School came into existence as an English school at a time when French was predominantly studied. Mrs. Gaos together with Mrs. Ruhí (Noddy Nursery School) reckoned on an international scenario which included a language which has nowadays become the lingua franca around the world. English treated as any other language from day, one and not brought in latterly.

A SCHOOL CONTINUOUSLY QUERYING ABOUT WHAT TO DO IN ORDER TO IMPROVE

Schools are origin and evolution. The world changes, and so the schools. In 2000 Princess Margaret International School consolidates a project by enlarging its facilities, adapting to new technologies, and including the academic period of Secondary School as part of its programme.

Princess Margaret International School currently is a benchmark in Barcelona as an International Academic Centre with strong Catalan heritage, and well-incorporated to the beighbouring district with a creative and pro-active spirit, which defines us not only who we are, but also who we want to become.

Having small groups allows us to offer personalised attention to our students, which creates close environments ideal to ensure an intensive, participative, and transdisciplinary learning.
